Petra Hřebačková studied ceramics first before expanding her expertise to glass art. She studied under Professor Václav Šerák at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague, which allowed her to develop her unique artistic talent. Surrounded by glass from birth, it is no surprise that her grandfather was the world-renowned glass artist Pavel Hlava, and her father is the renowned glass artist Tomáš Hlavička. Their influence naturally led her to continue the family tradition.
Creating glass artworks is both time-consuming and physically demanding for Petra Hřebačková. She starts by drawing each piece in detail and then cold-assembles the individual parts. Petra creates custom molds for each part of her work, melts the glass in them, and then, once cooled, grinds the glass into the desired shape. She adds additional parts, glues them, and grinds them again. This process is repeated until the final shape is achieved, and the piece is further refined through polishing.
Hřebačková’s work is characterized by its vibrant colors and abstract forms, often inspired by nature, giving them a very calming effect. Her sculptures not only captivate with their beauty but also bring harmony and peace to any space. Her creations reflect her talent and love for the art of glass.”
